Creation of mobile app to replace a newsletter printed for each workshop. The print version, since it had to close a week ahead, was ultimately out-of-date when the workshop began due to last-minute changes in faculty and schedules. The app can be continually updated. The workshop is in a remote area of upstate New York, and has limited cell signals and wifi. So the app was created using Adobe DPS technology, which allows off-line reading once each issue is downloaded. The app debuted for the 2013 workshop and has been refined each year.

Why a dark background?

The decision to place all information on a dark grey background was because we predicted that the students would be checking the app during projections in the darkened barn. This way, the glow from their screens would be less disruptive.
